Artist's Comments

Wwwwwendy. I tried to really smooth out the colouring. Don't really like her hair but oh well...and her eyes are a bit funky. Oh well. Oh well Oh well.

Do you guys like this style? Would anybody be willing to buy this style portrait? (this is for statistical purposes, not for rl. I'm not good enough to sell stuff, but something like this would prolly be worth 5 dollars or so.) Or even just do some sort of portrait art trade thing?

I don't know. Hit me up. Tell me what's what. Word to yo mother.

Edit:

Awesome y'alls! Thanks for all the critiques!

So if you can't tell what I did (FOR SHAME) I added some pinker tones to her face, darkened the shadows, messed with the hair (to it's unfortunate demise).

Added some of the skin colour to the hair because I remembered Cart's tutorial about using colours twice. Which was really about character design....And is right HERE: [link]

Emphasized nostrils and edges of lips...messed with eyes a bit..added more specific eyelashes and eyebrows..

UH. YEAH.

SO. BETTER?

Since I'm quickly stopping by before resuming studying, Pride and Prejudice, and *gulp* War and Peace, I'll drop a couple comments.

I think you've got an interesting style, and it'd be pretty good once you've brushed a couple things up. And if I gave myself the time between work, school, and Leo Tolstoy, I'd love to do some portrait trade. I'm not sure when that would happen, but with some brushing up (maybe make lights and darks in hair pop out, work with the light reflection on the eyes, etc.), I think you've got an interesting style.

And of course, none of us is a ~GunnerRomantic, or a *tracyjb or even an *Endling. It takes time, Lina :-\

Not a GR yet anyway. >:3

Thanks Jon, I'll work on the highlights.

PandP is real easy. Don't even think about it.

It's a very cute style with lotsa potential =w= I think you should keep developing it before ya atart selling it, though - I recommend using smaller brushes to refine and tighten it and get some moar detail in, especially for the eyes :3 Luuurrvvee the shading though : D

Yeah, I've got PandP all set for now. It's the Tolstoy that's got me concerned. And 1,350+ pages of War and Peace.

Who's your author again?
:iconmissushow:
Amy Tan. Easy as pie.

Well I think your colour choices are nice, but the other elements need work.

I like how versatile you style gets, How. One day, we should do a collab~ :0

I think that you should get a wider color palette though, to substitute for no lineart. Like, varied browns, magenta-ish red and carrot orange and a grayish yellow makes for a good blue-look.
